As “I’m With You” began to play, Kevin stood waiting for Janelle to walk down the aisle. In that moment, it felt like every emotion he had been holding back simply came pouring out.
It was one of the most unforgettable moments I had the privilege of witnessing and documenting on their wedding day.
Kevin and Janelle first called me almost a year ago, just to get to know each other and see if I would be the right photographer for them.
They wanted less posing, more candid moments, and most importantly, enough time to truly be present with their friends.
This celebration at Cape Fahn Koh Samui was created especially for their guests, with only 25 of their closest friends flying in from around the world to celebrate with them. They will be having another wedding with their family, making this day a meaningful gathering dedicated entirely to the people they love and the friendships they share.
Planned by @wondersweddings , the celebration felt intimate, personal, and completely true to Kevin and Janelle.
And somehow, that small gathering made everything feel even bigger.
More real. More intimate. More emotional.
I’m grateful I got to be there to witness it all.

The emotional part of the day
Kevin stood there, waiting for his bride, Janelle, to walk down the aisle.
Janelle had secretly chosen their wedding song. As the music began to play, a tear slowly rolled down Kevin’s cheek — and then, the moment he finally saw her walking toward him. Some moments don’t need to be directed. They simply happen.
"We generally want to capture memories of being with friends, and of our friends having a good time"
Since the couple wanted to spend more time with their friends and truly enjoy the celebration, I chose to give them space to experience the wedding rather than constantly pulling them away to take photos. Just let them be surrounded by the people they love, fully present in the moment, and capture the day as it naturally unfolds.
P.S. Of course, sometimes I’ll gently guide them for a few portraits or moments when it feels right — just enough to create something beautiful without taking them away from the experience.
Some candid, some guided portraits, just a little bit of both.
Enough direction to create beautiful portraits, but enough freedom to let them be themselves, enjoy the people around them, and experience the day as it naturally unfolds.
For me, that balance is what makes the photographs feel real, and gives them something meaningful to remember.
"The smiles and laughs we shared with friends, warm emotions we shared with each other, and the scenery and magic of having our favorite people together all at once""
